Maureen Newton
Agnes Maureen Newton, 66, of Longmont died at her home on Saturday, June 15.She was born March 15, 1936, in Highlandlake to James Elmer and Laura (Dreier) Newton.
She attended school in Mead and graduated from Mead High School in 1954. She worked in various jobs in the Longmont and Denver area and enjoyed traveling to visit siblings.She was employed at Longmont United Hospital for 22 years and was named "Employee of the Month."
Survivors are three sisters, her twin, Kathleen Hetterle of Redmond, Wash., Patricia French of Longmont and Helen Teter of Rockford, Ill.; seven brothers, Jerry Newton of Longmont, Richard Newton of Englewood, Ronald Newton of Greenville, N.C., Roland Newton of Whitefish, Mont., David Newton of Hillsboro, Va., Marcus Newton of Greeley and Forrest Newton of Centennial; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents and three sisters, Eunice, Betty and Rosemary, and four brothers, Orbin, Ray, Jack and Tom, are deceased.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, Longmont. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Guardian Angels Church in Mead. Interment will be in Foothills Garden of Memory, Longmont.Friends may visit from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.Contributions may be made to the Mental Health Association of Boulder County in care of Ahlberg, 326 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501.
